Digital Playbill
A Welcome from the Director
In a fast-paced, attention economy, digitally saturated world, it is radical to advocate for slowing down or pausing. It may seem equally out of place to suggest that there is a virtue to simplicity or that there is beauty in the ordinary. And yet…I believe that the opposite is true and that gratitude, recognition, and compassion are especially needed.
Ordinary Days and its characters live in “in-betweens.” In between the mundane and the magical. In between the material and the imagined. In between haunting pasts and hopeful futures. We truly hope that in between the start and end of today’s show, we inspire some laughter, serenity of heart, and perhaps a renewed perspective on the beauty that surrounds us daily.
We invite you to sit back, relax, and appreciate this intimate musical from Adam Gwon that follows four individuals as they navigate the frantic energy of New York City. Watching them connect, fall apart, lose each other, and find themselves.
Speaking of recognition–I am deeply grateful to your presence here with us because, as our ever-buoyant Warren reminds us, “for beautiful to happen, the beautiful has got to be seen.” Thank you for being here to see.
